I’ve set up this blog to chronicle my wanderings through Jordan over the coming year or so as I conduct my Fulbright research on the impact of technology on rural Jordanian communities. The name of the blog, kazakaza (or كذا كذا in Arabic script) is Arabic for “such and such.” As I begin to post accounts of my experiences in Jordan and other musings, I think the blog will quickly earn its title. Thanks for visiting. I hope you enjoy the site and decide to participate by way of the comments feature. I’m going to try and update the blog about twice a week. From time to time, my flatmate and fellow Fulbrighter Ali will also contribute to the blog.
Unless otherwise noted, all of the photographs used in the blog are taken by me. I use a Nikon D90 DSLR with a wide-angle 18-105mm lens when I don’t mind standing out from a crowd and a Canon PowerShot SD1000 when I do.

David Linfield is a 2009-2010 Fulbright Fellow to Jordan researching the impact of information and communication technology on rural Jordanian communities. He is a graduate of the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and the George Washington University in Washington DC. David was born in the Middle East and spent the first fourteen years of his life there. His current trip to Jordan is his first visit back to the region in ten years.
Ali Musa was recently declared Bachelor of the Arts by Fordham University in New York City. He has held several useless internships and depressing part-time jobs. Most recently, he has relocated to Jordan on a Fulbright Fellowship to study Arabic and research the leftist, Islamist, and pan-Arabist parties there. Ali is half-Palestinian and considers this integral to his CV.
I am officially Subscribed. Very nice!
Hihi,
Enjoying your photography and blog, gosh, it makes Jordan really seem exciting!
I should think that myself without your reminder, but it’s hard for me sometimes! I am a peace corps volunteer, sited near Maan, until ’11. I’d love to meet up sometime if you ever pass through here, or in Amman, and maybe chat about projects, or swap latest jokes*.
Cheers.
